Application development

Application Assessment and Code Review

A bounded review before a large project. You get findings, risks and a recommended order of work, not a commitment to rewrite the application.

What the review covers

Application

Structure, how hard the code is to change, dependencies, and whether errors are handled or hidden.

Database

Schema, queries, stored procedures, indexing, performance and who can reach the data. Pairs with SQL Server DBA services when the database needs its own plan.

Hosting

IIS, the Windows server, how the application is deployed, and whether the environment can be moved.

Integration

APIs, web services and the external systems the application cannot lose.

Security

Sign-in, authorization, input validation, where secrets live, and encryption in transit.

Performance

Slow pages, slow queries and slow API calls, with the likely cause rather than a guess.

What you receive

  • Findings, written so a technical manager can review them
  • Risks if nothing changes
  • Recommendations with a priority
  • A suggested roadmap: maintain, enhance, integrate or modernize

The assessment is the easiest first engagement. A development, enhancement or support contract comes after you have the report.

Start with the assessment

Tell us the application, the SQL Server version and the problem that made you look. Use Application Assessment on the contact form.
