Database-Driven Application Development

When the application is mostly a window onto SQL Server, splitting the work between an app vendor and a DBA creates the bug. Experts Infotech does both.

The database is part of the design

Screens, stored procedures, transactions and reports are one system. We design the tables and the application together, then tune the queries the screens actually run.

The usual stack is ASP.NET and C# with SQL Server. Reporting can be SSRS or Power BI. Hosting can be on-premises IIS, Azure or AWS. PostgreSQL is in scope when that is the database you already run.

Included in the design

  • Application structure and data access
  • SQL Server schema and stored procedures
  • Transactions that match the business action
  • Query shape and indexing for the screens
  • Authentication, authorization and least privilege
  • Backup and recovery expectations for the data the app owns

Bring the schema and the screens to the same conversation

Tell us the SQL Server version, the rough size of the data and what the application has to do.
