Power BI Consulting

Power BI is only as trustworthy as the model and the database under it. Slow pages and conflicting numbers are usually a modeling problem, not a license problem.

Make the reports match the business

We look at the dataset people argue about, the DAX or SQL that makes it slow, and who is allowed to see which rows. A new dashboard on top of an undefined measure does not fix the argument. Where the source is SQL Server, the query and the model are reviewed together.

Dashboards, semantic models and the SSRS reports you may still have are on Power BI and reporting. Paginated reports that should stay paginated are on SSRS consulting.

Typical starting points

  • A report that is too slow to use
  • Two datasets that disagree
  • Row-level security that does not match the org chart
  • A model copied once per department
  • SQL Server queries the report should not be running live

Name the report people do not trust

Where the data lives, and whether the problem is speed, access or two different numbers for the same question.
