SQL Server Reporting Services still prints the invoices, the packs and the operational lists. Those reports do not all need to become dashboards.

Repair, keep, or move

Some SSRS reports are slow because the query is wrong. Some are duplicates. Some are paginated documents the business must keep. We separate those before recommending a move to Power BI paginated reports or Power BI Report Server. A report that is a formatted extract should stay a paginated report.

  • Which reports are still run
  • Subscriptions and the data source they use
  • Queries that time out or lock the database
  • Duplicates that can be retired
  • Which reports, if any, should leave SSRS
